Full List of Zero-Waste Essentials

Shopping itself is unsustainable but what do you when you need something to nourish yourself? What if you want to pack lunch in a reusable bento box instead of eating out? What if you want to buy a refillable water bottle to avoid using single-use plastic bottles?

You don’t have to guilt trap yourself for buying something as long as you consume mindfully and with awareness. Because when you make the right decision once, you will never repeat the cycle of buying the same thing over and over.

This list is intended for those who know how to apply mindfulness to their consumption and want to transition to a more eco-friendly lifestyle. If you are currently struggling with your consumption habit and feel overwhelmed by your own craving for material possession, I suggest revisiting this list later in your journey.

My intention in compiling this list is to offer helpful resources for you to heal and live fully. The purpose is not to promote mindless consumption. It is up to you to decide what to purchase depending on your own personal need. Allow yourself to be mindful of why you need these products and think about how you intend to use it. Ask valuable questions like can I make do with what I already own? Can I find a used version of this product? Can I borrow this from a friend or a family?

You must also know that factory-made and even handmade products cannot always be completely sustainable, organic, ethical, eco-friendly, chemical-free, toxin-free, and natural all at the same time. So make sure to give yourself permission to be imperfect in your journey. Try your best to stay in alignment with the needs of this Earth but also allow yourself to be flexible and forgiving.

I suggest buying from the same store to consolidate the products into one box if you shop online. You can also visit a local Zero-waste shop or a health store if you live near one.
